Every organization has those special individuals who go above and beyond, dedicating their time, energy, and passion to making a difference. At Hope Charity, one such person is Maria Garcia, who recently reached an incredible milestone of 500 volunteer hours.
The Journey Begins
Maria first learned about Hope Charity three years ago through a social media post. "I was looking for a way to give back," she recalls. "When I read about the work Hope Charity was doing, something just clicked. I knew I had to get involved."
What started as a few hours a month quickly grew into a significant commitment. Maria began by helping with local fundraising events, then transitioned to coordinating our volunteer program.
Making an Impact
Over the past three years, Maria has:
- Organized 25 fundraising events, raising over $100,000
- Recruited and trained 150 new volunteers
- Traveled to Kenya twice to work directly in our programs
- Started a monthly donor circle that now supports three schools
